PHILOSOPHY MA Program
Academic Unit: Humanities and Social Sciences
Program Objectives: Philosophy MA program is offered with a wide range of courses at Yıldız Technical University and the aim of the program is to train students who have rational and critical thinking skills and to bring Philosophy to a higher level in Turkey. Courses offered within the program help students to acquire the ability to access, to evaluate and to interpret data by doing scientific research.

Graduation Requirements:
In order to graduate from the program, students are required;
- to take at least 7 courses (21 local credits/ 120 ECTS), two of which are required by the department
- to pass the “Seminar” and “Research Methods and Scientific Ethics” courses,
- to pass all courses with at least CB grade and have at least 2.50/4.0 GPA,
- to comply with the publication requirement,
- to register to “Lecture on Specialized Field” and “MA Thesis” courses in order to write a thesis, after completing the required number of credits,
- to pass the MA thesis defense successfully.
Publication Requirement:
MA students are required to meet at least one of the following requirements which has to be related to their thesis and done in cooperation with their thesis supervisor(s):
- An oral/ poster presentation at a national/ international refereed academic congress
- An academic article published or accepted for publication at a national/ international refereed academic journal
